How To Port Forward Using Netgear Router 3 min read
Your deployment server may be located on the local network so enable incoming traffic for using server on outside network. It’s called port forwarding or NAT (Network Address Translation). I have to show maximum router port forwarding rule. Such as Netgear, TP-Link and vyos virtual router.
First, I have to show Zabbix Server port forwarding using a Netgear router. When my guide step by step follow then you can use any port forwarding rule.

Step #01: Goto your usable browser and login Netgear router. Netgear router default login below:
IP address : 192.168.1.1
User Name : admin
Password : password
Step #02: Goto Advanced tab and then click Advanced Setup on the left menu.
Now see Netgear service name and internal IP address box. So you can click Add Custom Service on the right page.
Zabbix Server port forwarding from Netgear router.
Step #03: New adding service name (zabbix agent), Service Type (TCP/UDP), External Starting Port (10050), External Ending Port (10051) and Internal IP address (192.168.1.20).
Check mark Use the same port range for internal port.
See example below image.
Step #04: All setting are ok then click Apply button.
Wait for few minutes then access from public IP address using telnet command like as.
telnet 103.200.32.150 10050
Http port forwarding from Netgear router
Step #05: New adding service name (http), Service Type (TCP/UDP), External Starting Port (8080), External Ending Port (8081) and Internal .
IP address (192.168.1.20).
Don’t use check box because 80 port local port. When I can hit public 8080 port then forward it local port 80. That is called NAT rule.
Step #06: New adding service name (ssh), Service Type (TCP/UDP), External Starting Port (2233), External Ending Port (2234) and Internal.
IP address (192.168.1.20).
Don’t use check box because 80 port local port. When I can hit public 2233 port then forward it local port 22 and then login my local machine. Login example below:
# ssh -l root 103.200.32.150
Then type root password for remote login.
Please follow this step another port forward using a Netgear router.
